Why doesn't Schumachers accept checks for in store purchases?
With the arrival of debit cards and instant cash transferrals, it is no longer feasible to accept checks for purchases.

What is Schumacher's return policy?
  1. All returns must have a receipt.
  2. No refunds after 30 days.
  3. No store credits after 6 months.
  4. No refunds on worn / washed merchandise.
  5. All items must be returned in original condition; tags, labels, boxes, packaging, etc.
  6. No returns on special orders, "sale" items, monograms, alterations, or close outs.
  7. No exchanges or refunds on logoed items.
Items paid by cash or debit card may receive a cash refund or a check from Schumacher's depending on cash available in store at time of return. Credit card sales will have their credit card account credited for returns.

What is the best way to make sure we get our uniforms for the next school year?
The best way to ensure that you get your uniforms for the next school year is to place an early order at the store and come for pick up as soon as possible after we notify you that your order is ready. Changing size, getting alterations, etc. have a better chance of being done in time for the start of school, early orders also receive the benefit of being the first to have access to the incoming merchandise. Like any item, we can and do run out. We will do our best to get what you need in time for school. Keep in mind, this is the busiest shopping season of the year. If the uniforms are ordered by the deadline for your particular school you will receive a ten percent discount. Many times your school's shoes are not listed on your school's order form. There is no discount deadline on shoes for our "contracted" schools as they receive a 10% discount all year.

How do I place an order for uniforms?
In order to place an order for uniforms, you can fill out one of the order forms from the order form list and send it by mail along with a thirty dollar deposit (plus monogramming and alterations) to the store. Another way is to come to the store and we will help you fill out the order form. Schumacher's employees cannot take orders over the phone. Forms may be faxed to 504-889-0444 or scanned and e-mailed to ssmuck@schumachersuniforms.com, along with a deposit placed through our web-site (click on Make Deposits / Payments on home page). Orders must have a deposit to qualify for discount prices.

How do I find out if my order is ready to pick up?
You will be notified by phone when your early-order is ready to be picked up. In the event of an invalid phone number we will send a post card to the given address that your order is ready for pickup.

What is the school shoe guarantee?
For any pair of school shoes purchased for the current school year that wears out by the first of May of the same school year, you may receive a credit of 50% of your original purchase price off the regular price of a new pair. The old pair must be returned and include the original store receipt as proof of purchase. We are very strict about this date. If the first of May falls on a Sunday you must be here that Saturday. No other discounts may be applied.

Do you do monogramming, transfers, or alterations?
Schumacher's does do monogramming and alterations. For non-Schumacher's products monogramming starts at $5.00. To add your name or initials to a Schumacher's item is $7.50. For logos to be transferred onto shirts brought in, they start at $5.00 per item, depending on the specific "logo". Alterations start at $12.00 per alteration. Monograms can take to two weeks and longer at times during the busy season. Transfers can be done while you wait. The return time for alterations depends on the time of year.

Why should I place an "EARLY ORDER"?
  1. Most items will be discounted 10% if placed on an "EARLY ORDER" form by the date listed at top of form, usually May 1st (exceptions: socks, hair acc. etc.)
  2. Most items ordered can be deleted without any penalty. Order what you think you will need. By the time you come in to pick up your order you will have had time to determine what you really need. You may have obtained items from friends, family, and school swop days reducing what you need to purchase. Some exceptions here are special order items such as blazers, embroidered items (such as sweaters), or altered items.
  3. Adding items after the deadline may be done so but at regular prices.
Especially for parents of grade school children, there are very few special order items. Most all sizes, including shoes may be changed at time of pick up. We know children will grow. However, your input that you need uniforms and about what sizes your children are in and the quantities you wish to get is very valuable information. Receiving these forms early in May gives us the opportunity to address any shortages we may have in our inventory. Once your order has been filled you will be notified. We strongly suggest you come as soon thereafter as possible. This helps insure that any changes that need to be made will be done in time for the start of school.
